Scratch Built LandRaider WIP continued

Welcome back all to SB40k!  We've been traveling through my crazy Daemon army building lately, but today I've got a surprise for you- a return to those scratch built Landraiders I was working on something like two months ago.

Lets start off with pictures of what they looked like the last time I posted about them.

There is a basic outline of what is going to be there, but much of the panel scribing isn't finished yet and there isn't a whole lot of detail going on.

On to the current look of the two so far.

As you can see, I've done more scribing of the panels, added walls to the front and rear portions of the tank, and begun working on the side sponsons for the las cannons to come.  the well at the front of the tank above the front hatch is obviously where the twin-linked heavy bolter will be placed.

There is still a ton to do yet, though!  I'm currently making my own hatches for the top of the tank and plan to have various other additions such as front lights and smoke launchers added.  Eventually I will have to 'chaos it up' somehow, but for now this will do nicely.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your own projects are going well!

  1. Looking wonderful as usual. I have been meaning to try out some plasticard rhinos, I have attempted them in the past and given up, turning them into terrain, but after building a Proteus and most of a titan successfully, I am heavily considering doing some pre-heresy pattern rhinos for my Angels of Vengeance, since they are a second founding chapter.

  2. Great work Krisken! I built a scratch Dreadclaw awhile ago and it took me forever... and it's not nearly as complex as your Raider. How long have you spent on it, so far?

    1. I think I've been working on it for a few months now, though a lot of that time the two I've been building were put to the side so I could work on the Horror brains and the robot Flesh Hounds. I think in real work time probably a month would be accurate.

I will say over the last week I've made huge strides. Twin linked heavy bolters are done, lights, and the hatches at th top have been built and added. I'll be doing an update soon, I promise!
