Time to Chaos-up that Scratch built Landraider

Welcome back all.  Got a small update for you fine folks.  This week I've been working on adding those small touches which give definition to the Landraider I scratch built.  Here's what we've got so far-

As you can see I've carved out a chaos symbol for the front gate, added a few touches to the guns and lights, and included edged grill work to the rear portion.  Eventually I will include the engine piece here and plan on adding more Chaos type bits to the tank.

That's it for today for Chaos.  With Eldar coming out soon I've been looking at my models and contemplating making the switch to the larger bases for my Wraithguard.  Really looking forward to it!

Las cannons scratch built

Welcome back, one and all.  Not a whole lot to share since Thursday's post, but I do have a nice image of the las cannons I built for the Land Raiders I put together so far.

Digging it so far.  Eventually these will have to be chaosed up, but for now I'm enjoying the purity of the thing!

From this point on, updates may become somewhat erratic, maybe 2 or even 3 times in a week.  I feel I've been neglecting the blog a bit and we've been seeing weird jumps in progress where short, frequent updates would probably be more beneficial.  So, till next time, take care and happy building all.

Scratch built Land Raider WIP- hatches and weapon turrets progress

Hello all, welcome back to SB40k.  I normally don't update midweek, but I made a ton of progress and wanted to share it with all of you.

As many of you already know, I've been working hard on the two Land Raiders for my CSM army which is in progress of being built.  Last week I had the frame mostly finished and had progressed to the point of needing all the nice little additions which make the vehicle stand out.

Previously when I built vehicles I used premade materials, hatches and weapons, to help add those extra touches.  After someone had given me a hard time for doing so, I decided my next project would be 100% scratch built.  Here's hoping I can continue this trend and finish the model as it should be.

Scratch Built LandRaider WIP continued

Welcome back all to SB40k!  We've been traveling through my crazy Daemon army building lately, but today I've got a surprise for you- a return to those scratch built Landraiders I was working on something like two months ago.

Lets start off with pictures of what they looked like the last time I posted about them.

There is a basic outline of what is going to be there, but much of the panel scribing isn't finished yet and there isn't a whole lot of detail going on.

On to the current look of the two so far.

As you can see, I've done more scribing of the panels, added walls to the front and rear portions of the tank, and begun working on the side sponsons for the las cannons to come.  the well at the front of the tank above the front hatch is obviously where the twin-linked heavy bolter will be placed.

There is still a ton to do yet, though!  I'm currently making my own hatches for the top of the tank and plan to have various other additions such as front lights and smoke launchers added.  Eventually I will have to 'chaos it up' somehow, but for now this will do nicely.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your own projects are going well!
