Converted Terminator Librarian painted

Sadly, I don't have any images of this model as I put it together.

For the most part it is a normal Terminator that uses a human face, a Dreadnought ornament, and a book on the shoulder made from plasticard and wire.  Overall I think it's a good centerpiece to head my army into battle!

I'd also like to say thank you to all of you, the readers, for reading and commenting.  We've hit a milestone here at Scratchbuilt 40k, and I (obviously) couldn't have done it without you.  With that said, thank you for helping the site reach 50 'people who like Scratchbuilt 40k'!

Progress on tanks

Welcome back fellow gamers.  Progress in this neck of the woods may appear slow due to a lack of updates, but rest assured I haven't forgotten about this little corner of the internet of which I am facilitator.  First up, some pictures of progress on my personal project The Pride of the Emperor.

First up, the two Predators have been finished.  Painting these took a lot less time than I had anticipated.  While no army is truly 'done', I think I am happy with where these are and will slowly add little details later on to give the army flavor.  Some of these things include banners, ribbons and possibly an attempt at some free hand painting (which scares the bejeezus out of me!).

Nope, this Landraider is not quite finished.  Not even sure I like the way the brown came out on the yellow, but I'm willing to live with it for now.  Again, I'm thinking of some ribbons and banners for this vehicle and I need to paint the small ribbon banners on the side doors and the front (which can't be seen in this image).

This is the lone Razorback in the current list I made.  The weapon load out is the popular (and much hated) las/plas variant used all over.  A couple things could be done to the plasma guns yet and some exhaust ports need to be added to the vehicle yet, but otherwise it is finished.  I like how this vehicle turned out, possibly better than the others.

Well, that's the army so far.  There are two Landraider Redeemers which currently have their guns being primed and getting ready for the paint table, the three medic crosses painted on the plain shoulder pads, and the Librarian needs the shoulder book finished yet.  Outside the army I have a submarine to finish painting for a friend.

I still need to adjust the Rhino templates to reflect the size more accurately and replace two missing templates, one for the Rhino and one for the Mk1 Landraider, which I have scheduled for next week sometime.  All in all, it's been a busier 3 weeks than site updates would make things appear!  Till next time, take care all and happy gaming!

Hello everyone.  I would like to take a minute away from the usual 40k post to say thank you to everyone who has come to my little site and expressed interest in the projects I've put forth here.  There have definitely been times I've come close to setting the site aside, but I've always come back seeing the support of you all.  2011 has been a great year in which I've learned a lot about what I can pull off scratch building for Warhammer 40k (and what I need to work on!), and I look forward to seeing what I am able to do for 2012.

I'd also like to give a quick shout-out to the Santa Cruz Warhammer Honor Roll.  If you haven't seen the various honorees, you really should!  This is a fantastic site that does a great job highlighting some of the other great 40k (and other things) content out there.  Often times the great efforts bloggers put forth can get lost in the sea of blogs available.  This is a thank you to them, and a thank you to the other sites too numerous to name which spend a post each week or so covering so many other great sites.

Have yourselves a safe and happy holiday season, no matter what holiday you celebrate.  

A Librarian Dreadnought Joins the Fray

Welcome back one and all to Scratchbuilt 40K!  The last few weeks I've been spending my free time away from Warhammer related ventures (as one friend calls playing Skyrim 'Chasing the dragon').  However, I have had the chance to put together and paint a Librarian Dreadnought for the Pride of the Emperor army.

This model's arms are removable and the waist is magnetized to allow the model to pivot.

I recreated the faces on the base using InstaMold and resin and adding it to the base.

I would rather have had the Force Weapon painted using the airbrush, but sadly that is put away as Wisconsin winters are not kind to airbrushing outside.  This, however, turned out better than I thought it would.

Well, that's it for this week.  I know it's not much of an update after 3 weeks of silence, but it's all I could get finished in that time.  Till next time, happy gaming!
